School Uniform
St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School
“As unique individuals, we do our best at work and play for the love of God and others.”
Uniform Requirements.
We are proud of our school and we want our children to be proud too. We also know that the discipline instilled in children when they wear uniform translates to all that they do in school. However, we do make accomodations for chidren with SEND who may not be comfortable in the uniform, and this can be discussed with the head on a case by case basis.
Autumn and Spring term:
White collared shirt (tailored shirt not a polo shirt)
Golden tie (from the school uniform providers or the PTA)
Green cardigan or jumper (from the school uniform provider or the PTA)
Grey trousers, shorts, pinafore or skorts
Grey or white socks or tights
Black school shoes – not trainers.
Summer term:
Yellow and white checked dress or playsuit
Or grey shorts or trousers with a yellow polo shirt
White or grey socks
Black school shoes – not trainers
PE kit:
In order to reduce costs for families and to free up time in the curriculum, children are asked to wear their PE kits to school on PE days.
You can choose to buy the school PE kit which is a black and green polo shirt, with the matching skort or shorts.
Alternatively, you can choose to buy a plain black polo shirt and black shorts. In the winter, children can wear the black and green hoodie from the online supplier or a plain black hoodie and black tracksuit bottoms (there must be no branding on the items and they must be plain).
Any style or colour of trainer - perferably black or dark
Items can be bought from http://www.stbenedicts.uniform4you.co.uk The password is Handforth1
Exceptions:
In year 5 and 6 some children will be given purple jumpers – they represent TEAM Benedict.
We know that school uniform is expensive. Most of the uniform is available from supermarkets. In addition, the PTA has an extensive pre-loved shop. They can be contacted via the school office. If you are finding it difficult to pay for new uniform, please contact the school office.
We have some items that we will lend to pupils who are not wearing the correct clothes. We will talk to parents about uniform if it is regularly incorrect and we may ask you to bring the correct uniform to school.
We thank you for continuing to help us keep high standards in school.
