Dear Parents and Children,
Mrs Fargahaly and I hope you have all had a wonderful summers holiday and can’t wait to get started!
This term in maths, we will be diving right into our number work, focusing on number, place value, addition and subtraction. In literacy, the children will be reading and writing about myths and legends such as Beowulf and King Arthur.
Our topic will take us back in time, all the way to the Anglo Saxons. The children will be exploring some of the UK’s most famous castles.
In science, we will be investigating living things and their habitats.
In PE, the children will be working in teams and developing their football and netball skills.
Year 4 routines and key days:
Homework will be sent home every Wednesday and returned to school the following Monday to be marked in time. Please ensure that homework is handed in on time to ensure that it is marked before the next set is handed out.
Spellings will also be sent home every Wednesday. Children will also be tested on a Wednesday.
Children should have their PE kits in school all week, every week to ensure they are always prepared for their lesson.
I am delighted to be back at St Benedict’s and look forward to meeting you all as the new year begins.
