Welcome to the Reception Homepage again, the staff would like to thank all families for supporting the children at home. We can tell lots of you are reading regularly as well as pratising your arithimetic and wriitng skills.
During this half term, in phonics we will been going over phase four, , consoldating blends we know and introducing more than one blend in a word, as well as introducing new phase four tricky words.
The children would still really benefit from practising their letter formation at home, if the children write a few sentences about something they have done we will display it in the classroom.
In literacy we will be working with three texts, Christophers Caterpillar and The Hungry Caterpillar and a non ficition text about the lifecycle of Caterpillar's 'Caterpillar to Butterfly. All of the texts fit in within our Minibeast and Animal topic this half term, which is currently stimulating our Zoo and vet role play areas in addition to the challenge tasks within the classroom.
In maths across the whole term we are revisiting adding to help us to begin to write number sentences and know our number bonds to 10 and then 20. We will then move onto subtraction and shape. A few reminders, we change reading books on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and PE sessions are on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Thank you again for your continued support Andrea Ogden
